Known Problems and Limitations

• The Vehicle Factory is Online but it is only in its infancy.  I'm working as fast as i can to try and get it updated with new vehicles as well as trying to categorize the vehicles to make searching easier.  Currently there is no automation for maintaing that page so please give it some time to mature.

• Tthe Publish Vehicle feature that is built into GVD is a FREE addon service for registered users that allows them to submit their vehicles to the Vehicle Factory.  I must warn you that at this time I am not sure how long i will be able to support maintenance of the Vehicle Factory (which the Publish Vehicle feature depends on) or how useable the Vehicle Factory site will become.

• Tthe Publish Vehicle feature which is enabled in registered versions REQUIRES a MAPI enabled email program to be installed and working on your machine. This feature has only been tested under Microsoft Outlook Express 4.0 and 5.0.  Please report any difficulties with other MAPI clients.

• While in Evaluation mode, you cannot Save but you can load Vehicles.  Check the Vehicle Factory Online for some more Vehicles that you can load with you're evaluation copy of GVD.   Incidentally, if you try to open a new vehicle with one already loaded, you will get the "Do you want to save" dialog.  Don't be fooled, the program will still not let you save a valid vehicle file so make sure you dont accidentally overwrite your Vehicles while in evaluation mode!!!

• This program has not been tested on some older Pentium and all non pentium machines. Although i do not anticipate any problems, you never know.  Please report any problems you  encounter.

• This program has not been tested on systems with less than 32 megs of RAM.  Although i do not anticpate any problems on systems with less RAM (provided they have enough virtual memory), i cant say for sure.   Pleaes report any problems you encounter.

• This program has only received limited testing on NT4 operating systems and may not run properly on all NT4 configurations. Please report any problems you encounter.

• GVD version 1.0.3 and higher has fixed a bug that was causing problems when running on Windows operating systems with Locale settings of other than  English.  This problem is now fixed and GVD should run on all locale settings. 

• Rules for Sidecars and "hand weapons" are not included in this version of GVD. To the best of my knowledge all other Construction rules have been incorporated.   (Crew Escape Capsules are functional in the current 1.0.24 release)

What's Slated for Version 1.1 ? (ETA October 1st, 1999)

• Copy and Paste support.  This will be especially useful for when you want to add multiple copies of the same weapon in your vehicle.

• Ability to Save weapons independantly and then load them into new Vehicle projects.

• Ability to sort the order in which your vehicle components are placed in the tree.  For instance, if you always want your Propulsion systems at the top of the tree, they will always jump to the top regardless of when you added them.
